Position Descriptions, Requirements and Expectations
The Board of Directors is composed of the following nine (9) voting members: President; Vice President; Secretary; Treasurer; Director at Large; Director-Education & Conference; Director-Event &Hospitality; Director-Membership; Director-Sponsors & Exhibitors.
In addition, the following individuals are non-voting members of the Board of Directors: Immediate Past President and Immediate Past Treasurer.

Each AMUG Board of Directors position has a unique description of duties and set of specific requirements and expectations:
AMUG President
The AMUG President is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the AMUG Corporation for two years, followed by two years as Immediate Past President. The President works in partnership with the Board of Directors to achieve the AMUG mission, vision, objectives, and purposes as outlined by the AMUG Bylaws.

AMUG Vice President
The AMUG Vice President is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer for two years. The Vice President works in partnership with the Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors to communicate, coordinate and manage the Sponsors and Exhibitors for the annual AMUG Conference.

AMUG Secretary
The AMUG Secretary is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer for two years. The Secretary oversees the custody of the corporate records of the Corporation and performs all duties as the corporate secretary of a corporation required by law or such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Board of Directors via the AMUG Policy, Procedure, and Governance Manual.

AMUG Treasurer
The Treasurer is appointed by the AMUG Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer of the Corporation for three years and the following one year as the Immediate Past Treasurer. The Treasurer is the Chief Financial Officer of the AMUG Organization and is responsible for all funds, securities, deeds and other assets belonging to AMUG, subject to any finance-related policies as may be imposed by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer must be a U.S. citizen and adhere to a background check prior to appointment.

Director at Large
The AMUG Director at Large is appointed by the AMUG Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. The Director at Large works in an advisory capacity within the AMUG organization and provides fiduciary oversight. The Director at Large must have previous experience as a Director on the Board of Directors, be a U.S. citizen, and adhere to a background check prior to appointment.

Director, Education & Conference
The AMUG Director, Education & Conference is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. Director, Education & Conference is the primary lead for developing, coordinating, and implementing the agenda and programs for the annual User Group Conference. Director, Education & Conference develops the AMUG-specific programs that fulfill the AMUG objectives and purposes as outlined in the AMUG Bylaws.

Director, Event & Hospitality
The Director, Event & Hospitality is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. The Director, Event & Hospitality is a primary external liaison from the Board of Directors to facilitate and coordinate the logistics of the annual AMUG Conference.

Director, Membership
The Director, Membership is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. The Director, Membership designs and implements AMUG membership growth and retention strategy that aligns with AMUG’s mission, vision, objectives, and purposes.

Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors
The Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. The Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors works in partnership with the Vice President to communicate, coordinate, and manage the Sponsors and Exhibitors for the annual AMUG Conference.
