Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City

Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City offers a premier, self-contained environment in the Marina District, allowing AMUG Conference attendees to maximize their networking and relaxation time without ever leaving the property.

This hotel complex is massive, standing as one of the largest casino-hotel properties in New Jersey. The sprawling resort sits on 45 acres overlooking the Absecon Bay. It offers 2,590 guest rooms and the 125,000-square-foot Waterfront Conference Center.

Although a large complex, Harrah’s Resort features indoor walkways linking all guestroom towers, the Waterfront Conference Center, the casino, and all amenities, so our guests never have to brave the elements.

While the AMUG Conference keeps you busy from morning coffee to evening nightcaps, you might have some downtime before the conference opens or after it ends. To enjoy that downtime, you could pop into Atlantic City and onto its famous Boardwalk.

Harrah’s Resort is less than a 10-minute drive from the Atlantic City Boardwalk. And for a no-hassle round trip, catch one of the Atlantic City Jitney minibusses for $3.00, “door-to-door” transportation.

The Boardwalk
  • 5.5-mile wooden walkway: America’s first (1870) and most iconic coastal promenade.
  • Rolling chairs: Iconic, human-powered transportation along the Boardwalk.
  • Steel Pier: Giant observation wheel and classic amusement park rides/attractions.
  • Beach: Take a barefoot walk (will be a bit chilly for sunbathing or swimming) in the white sand that sits directly alongside the Boardwalk (free public access).

  • Classic treats: While strolling the Boardwalk, you’ll be tempted by the iconic salt water taffy and aromas of funnel cake, fudge and caramel corn.
Absecon Lighthouse

Located on the northern end of the Boardwalk, and just 5 minutes from Harrah’s Resort via a AC Jitney minibus, the lighthouse is New Jersey’s tallest (171 feet) and one of the oldest. Sitting on 2 acres right at the northern tip of the city near the inlet, you can climb up its 228 steps for breathtaking views of the Atlantic City skyline, the Absecon Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

At the top, you’ll come face-to-face with the original first-order Fresnel Lens, first lit in 1857.

  • Climbing fee: $10.00 (adults)
  • Hours: Open Thursdays through Mondays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
    (the last tower climb of the day is always 1/2 hour before closing)
