Formerly 3DSUG, AMUG will encourage technical information transfer among owners and operators of 3D Systems, EOS, Objet, Stratasys, Z-Corp and other additive manufacturing systems.

CHATSWORTH, CALIF. – April 6, 2011 – Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG), an organization for owners and operators of additive manufacturing equipment, today announced a rebranding initiative. The decision came at the conclusion of an annual business meeting held this year in Miami, Florida on April 6.

“Changing the name from 3DS Users Group to Additive Manufacturing Users Group was a unanimous decision,” said AMUG chairman Gary Rabinovitz. “Moving forward, our Users Group aims to reach a broader audience of additive manufacturing users, including but not limited to, 3D Systems, EOS, Objet, Stratasys and Z Corp equipment.””

The name change will require simple modifications to the existing bylaws as directed by the new board of directors who were voted into office during the annual business meeting.

“It is an honor to be associated with an organization that targets an international audience of universities, product development companies and manufacturers,” said ACG principle Nadra Angerman. “Many organizations understand the importance of branding, marketing, public relations and social media, but few have the resources to plan and execute effectively. I’m thrilled to provide marketing strategy and tactics to the AMUG.”
