Position Descriptions, Requirements and Expectations

The Board of Directors is composed of the following nine (9) voting members: President; Vice President; Secretary; Treasurer; Director at Large; Director, Education & Conference; Director, Marketing & Events; Director, Membership; Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors.

In addition, the following individuals are non-voting members of the Board of Directors: Immediate Past President and Immediate Past Treasurer.

Each AMUG Board of Directors position has a unique description of duties and set of specific requirements and expectations:

President

The President is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the AMUG Corporation for two years, followed by two years as Immediate Past President. The President works in partnership with the Board of Directors to achieve the AMUG mission, vision, objectives and purposes as outlined by the AMUG Bylaws.
AMUG PRESIDENT POSITION DESCRIPTION

Vice President

The Vice President is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer for two years. The Vice President works in partnership with the Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors to communicate, coordinate and manage the Sponsors and Exhibitors for the annual AMUG Conference.
AMUG VICE PRESIDENT POSITION DESCRIPTION

Secretary

The Secretary is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer for two years. The Secretary oversees the custody of the corporate records of the Corporation and performs all duties as the corporate secretary of a corporation required by law or such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Board of Directors via the AMUG Policy, Procedure, and Governance Manual.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is appointed by the AMUG Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Directors as an Officer of the Corporation for three years, followed by one year as the  Immediate Past Treasurer. The Treasurer’s primary responsibility is to lead the Finance Committee to provide fiduciary oversight and guidance on the long-term financial health of the organization, working to develop policies and advise on investments. The Treasurer must be a U.S. citizen and adhere to a background check prior to appointment.

Director at Large

The Director at Large is appointed by the AMUG Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. The Director at Large works in an advisory capacity within the AMUG organization and must have previous experience as serving on the Board of Directors prior to appointment.

Director, Education & Conference

The Director, Education & Conference is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. Director, Education and Conference is the primary lead for developing, coordinating, and implementing the agenda and programs for the annual User Group Conference. Director, Education and Conference develops the AMUG-specific programs that fulfill the AMUG objectives and purposes as outlined in the AMUG Bylaws.

Director, Marketing & Events

The Director, Marketing and Events is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for a two-year term. The Director, Marketing and Events provides AMUG Conference growth and retention strategy that aligns with AMUG’s mission, vision, objectives, and purposes.

Director, Membership

The Director, Membership is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. The Director, Membership designs and implements AMUG membership growth and retention strategy that aligns with AMUG’s mission, vision, objectives and purposes.

Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors

The Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors is elected by the AMUG members and serves on the Board of Directors for two years. The Director, Sponsors & Exhibitors works in partnership with the Vice President to communicate, coordinate and manage the Sponsors and Exhibitors for the annual AMUG Conference.
